3 PROBLEMS Finding Talent For Supply Chain
Tuesday Oct 11, 2022
Tuesday Oct 11, 2022
Mike and La discuss the main 3 problems which is preventing new young talent joining the industry of supply chain. One of the reasons is the rise in interest from the younger generation revolving around technology, coding and automation. Children no longer want to be policeman or firetruck drivers, they look up to individuals such as Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk and companies like Apple and Facebook and are learning coding from as early as primary school. It’s an educating experience for both newbies and stalwarts of logistics services. The second reason are hybrid companies such as Amazon which are not a logistics company and the third problem is the status quo of how the shipping industry is run.

La Chang, a Sydney freight forwarder at TGL, talks about the supply chain industry's hazy terminology and if it can be resolved. The logistics sector lacks the same level of clarity as other sectors, such as law and medicine, which have standardised designations for each distinct position. Those seeking jobs in NSW trying to enter into the sector is made more difficult by this misunderstanding, but controlling these job titles may prove more challenging than it first appears to be.
TGL YouTube channel provides digital resources that aid clients, potential customers and the wider community in understanding the complexities of the logistics industry. It's home to everything from tutorials, industry insights, to company news and updates.
